Which biome a dream home?

When I think about all the biomes there is this question that always comes to my mind, which biome I would chose to be my dream home, if the choice is given to me.

I think my choice will be Temperate grassland. Tropical grassland could almost tie but I am just afraid of those predators with big canines. Forests are not the places where I would like to live, they block too much of the sunlight and the natural view. Tundra is out of the question, just too cold for my old bones.

So the choice is the temperate grassland, with a view that goes to the horizon. The sunrise and the sunsets are not hindered by anything. The open, flat area and with the sky and the Sun; and a small home that I will call mine.
What about you?

well first of all the video you made us watch today made me cry... when the wolf caught the baby gazelle. ew.
i think i would have to go with the temperate forest. a nice moderate climate, and plenty of trees which i love. some of the animals would be kind of scary, but i guess every biome has its drawbacks. i've jsut always loved going to the mountains and camping so that's my choice.
good luck financing your dream home, dr. singh.

Being a city kid myself, I find this a tough question...though I do love to get away to nature occasionally, I just can't see myself living in it...maybe that's part of the problem humanity has with the environment. If I had to choose just one, though, I would have to go with a tropical forest in a location like an island in the Carribbean sea. I think I would enjoy the solitude and weather a lot.

I'd like to live in a big city by water, like Chicago. If not a big city I would want to be isolated in the mountains somewhere in Colorado.

I would have to agree with you Dr. Singh. I would probably choose the Temperate grassland. Not many predators live there, and it has a great view all around. This is, of couse, if I had to pick from the various biomes that are available on this planet. I am happy living in the city. I was born in Los Angeles and lived there 11 years(untill we moved here). I would never move to the country. My parents dragged me along to Bakersfield, but I much rather preffered LA. When you live in the big city, everything is available to you. Living in isolated places could be dangerous in times of emergencies. Also, where would you get your food, where would you go if you were to get sick? There are many inconveniences in isolated places that could be avoided by living in the more populated cities. Therefore, I prefer to live in the city and not in natural biomes which are unpredictable and somewhat isolated from everything. If I had no choise, I would pick the Temperate grassland for my new home.

Kyle's comment was funny! That is the case with most of the young generation, that comes from the urbanized upbringing (I am not saying there is anything wrong with it), it is a very natural response!!!!

i think the tropical rainforest would be my biome of choice due to all of the percipitation and the average temperature not to mention the wide variety of plants and animals...i think everyday in the tropical rain forest would be a new and exciting adventure!!!

If i were to choose a biome to live in, I would choose to live near an estuary like Morro Bay. Although it is breezy year round with summer temperatures never rising about 83*, I'm a big fan of cooler weather. Also, life in estuaries is so diverse and different that there is no excuse not to smile at the life that surrounds you.

i also agree with kyle and would definitely like living in a city like chicago or new york. but who wants to be in the city for their whole life? not me. so besides the city id want to get away to a place near an aquatic biome, like near the beach. i would choose the beach cause i enjoy the weather and the water, and the climate.

If i could choose a biome to live in it would be the tropical rainforest. I don't mind the rain there, and the animals would keep me very entertained. all i would need is a nice hammock with some blankets and it would be perfect. grasslands are to wide open and predators can easily spot you. In a rainforest you can easily hide if you wanted to.

Well Dr. Singh, if i had the choice of living in any biome I would have to choose the mountains. I love the mountains! The weather is usually amazing (including frequent snowfall) and the wildlife is also BREATHTAKING! Hanging out all day in a cabin in the mountains just sounds very appealing to me.

well, i am a fan of the city, but since that really isnt a biome i would live in the mountains. i just love the peacefulness of mountains, and i love to be surronded by nature. and you can actually see the stars!

I would have to choose the Deciduous Forest biome, because, although there isn't much natural sunlight when the trees are green and in bloom, there is plenty of sunlight in the winter after the leaves fall. The only major predators to worry about are bears, but that is the only downside that I see. There is so much plant life in the deciduous forest, and there are many different species of birds. I also fear open spaces like grasslands, and the mountains and tundras are much to cold for me. But the deciduous forests has just enough rainfall (not too much, not too little) and provides the security of an enclosed space. The trees form a sort of roof over your head. And there are small rivers and streams for water. I think I could easily survive in the forest.

I really like the city, living in a place where they are no people must feel pretty lonely. But if i could i would love to live close to the beach.
