We all know that music plays an important part in most all people's lives, but do you think it could do more to further issues, especially the global climate crisis? Now, as us music conesseurs will tell you, music that's too preachy is really awful, but it doesn't necissarily need to be preachy in order to get the point across. Any opinions? In what way can we use the arts to bring awareness to key issues?

I think Trevor brings up an interesting topic. How can we use the arts in order to help people to essentially help themselves by preserving the environment? I believe we can do this by example: if movie stars, muscians, and artists could all do their part to contribute their time and knowledge to the cause-it could be the first step to preserving life on our planet. For example, the Go Green Concert/Demonstration that took place within the last three years and was put on by Al Gore. Muscians(and big ones too) and movie stars all increased the awareness of our global issues. However, they did not do the most important thing... leading by example. They all flew out in their private jets, drove their hummers around set, and littered like crazy the whole time. What did that teach the American public? We should pratice what we preach because if we don't were not really doing our part in helping the environment.
I agree. I believe that major musicians and actors have the right ideas bringing our environmental problems to attention, but like cherrity said, they need to actually DO SOMETHING and lead by example.
